She can wear like mascara, brown/beige eye shadow and lip gloss. That would be enough for her. Add the foundation and all the others when she's late 14.

Yes!!! But what I would do would be to show her how to put it on or go to a make-up place to show her. My mom did this and now I wear less make-up and am good with it. If you don't she will just go behind your back and wear it. My old best friend's mom did this, and everyday at school she would have someone put on eyeliner then wash it off before she got home. Give her some credit. I started wearing it when I was about in the 6th grade. And now, I only wear it when I go out somewhere special. Let her wear her make up, now a days, people where make up all the time. Give her tips and let her know that it is a privilege and not a right. Don't let her go too crazy. Hope I helped and you can always contact me if you have anymore questions. =]

It's a great time to teach her how to take proper care of her skin before the acne years hit. I'd get her a good foaming cleanser for sensitive skin, a moisturizer with sunscreen and a tint (like Dove's EnergyGlo), and some pressed powder foundation to even out her complexion. None of it is really "makeup", but it is stuff that will help her set good habits for the future, give her the feeling that she's doing something "grownup" and won't be anything that will make others give her a second glance as though she's "overdone".

If she wants to play with a clear mascara to get used to how to put it on, there's nothing wrong with that. If she goofs with it, it obviously won't be noticeable. Again, she can play with it and get into good habits, but not be inappropriately made up for her age. By the same token, you can get her a little light bronzing powder to use instead of blush and eyeshadow, or you could get her a little light pink blush to use the same way.

If it's simply and tastefully done, I wouldn't see any problem with it at all.

I think you should let her decide that on her own. Let your child grow into the person she wants to be. That is all part of growing up. I started to wear make up at 12 years old. It didn't mean I was growing too fast or anything like that. Always know what your child is doing and have communication. If she wants to experiment with make-up then let her. She may or may not like it anyway. If she is a good girl, why are you worried? Make-up isn't gonna change who she is inside. Let her choose what she likes but still remind her that you are the parent. Too much freedom is not a good thing.

how about you can compromise, allow her to wear a little bit (like a little lip gloss and a little eyeliner/shadow) but nothing over the top. or you can try just allowing her to wear it on the weekends and special occasions like my mom did. then when i went to high school she let me wear however much i wanted (which wasnt very much since i wasnt that kind of girl if you know what i mean..i think she knew that i wouldnt wear very much). but i think it is different for everyone. when i was in 8th grade i remember seeing many other girls with a ton of makeup on, but then again there were some with none on, so it really depends on how you and your daughter feel about the situation.
hope i helped

good luck!

Wearing makeup is a rite of passage. Start her out with a little pressed powder and some concealer and blush. She shouldn't need a lot of heavy foundation or other stuff. Show her what you deem appropriate amounts and then monitor her use for a while. As you see her following the rules let her add some mascara and eyeshadow. It is always much better for you to show her and "sponsor" her makeup purchases before she gets stuff from friends and starts doing it behind your back.

I think mascara only to start and maybe some eyeliner on the bottom lid.
I think thats the most any women should wear actually.
there is a lot of presure and if shes a good student then maybe a little, I always thought 16 was a good age to start, but then again Im pretty old fashion.

I started to let my daughter wear makeup at 13, but not alot of it. Like you said do it a little at a time.

I needed help from a g/f since I'm a guy and think that there are about 10 million to many kinds of makeup.

I was allowed to wear it if I wanted. My parents knew I was a classy girl and wasn't going to do myself up like a prostitute. All the girls who weren't allowed to wear any usually would sneak it on at school. And the girls with the strict parents were the ones who ended up rebelling and looked the trashiest by high school.

along with helping her pick out the makeup, get her a subscription to a teen mag. Their articles on makeup are always classy and age appropriate. You don't want her sole source of inspiration to be the girls in school- I'm sure there's a lot of black liquid liner and frosty lipgloss going on!

Everyone goes through a makeup phase. By the time you get to college you realize how much prettier you are without it!
