you know, those goofy things they put on top of car dealerships? Does their presence actually have any correlation to auto sales, do you think?

Nope, they're just trying to get people to look at them and get some brand awareness, it may help in the long run when someone remember's them when they are looking for a new car. But really cars are such a huge purchase that stupid gimicks like that have no real immediate effect, only long term!

In Los Angeles, we have a HUGE gorilla on top of a dealership - never made ME go in there to ask how much the cars are... We have another one with a HUMONGOUS dinosaur - same story... Hasn't attracted me any... Oh, we did buy a car from one of the Dinosaur's competitors... Ooops.

Suprisingly yes. Anything that gets them attention or anything that they are having a sale, whether its tents, giant gorillas, or whatever. I know its kind of gimic(ee) but it will boost sales.

It's supposed to get your attention as you're driving along the freeway,but make sure you don't slam into the person in front of you.

noticing is one thing....buying a car is another...i, nor anyone I know has ever bought a car on account of one of those things.
