How can I get started in print advertising?

I am an actor, and am always looking for additional ways to make a living! I am interested in becoming a print model. I don't mean high fashion, I'm not in to that, but advertisments that use photos of "real" people to sell cleaning products or whatever. Thanks.

A good advertiser will look for someone who looks interesting before they look for someone who is just (yawn) beautiful. So get a portfolio of pictures together that highlight your most interesting features and most interesting expressions. Don't be afraid to look silly, stupid, or ugly...the thing is, there's a long running joke that all advertising professionals have ADD, and they all think their audience is going to have even worse ADD, so if you can get a picture of you to maintain their interest for more than a second - you're in.
