I don't know whether it would be in the ambit of help or not.

Keep certain points in mind when choosing a home for your retired parents:

1. Keep in mind what suits your parents about the accommodation and not what the children like.

2. Select a good neighbourhood.

3. Select those premises which require minimum periodic maintenance; and on daily basis which can be maintained by themselves with or without domestic help easily.

4. It should have good residential infrastructure in close surroundings with easily accessible public transport, communication, medical, banking and daily needs articles.

5. The access to the indoors (windows, doors etc.) should be reasonably secure and operations understandable well by your parents.

6. Provide them with the amenities of life well, as per your resources and abilities.

7. Don't compromise on their safety, security and well being.
