I have a friend who's husband walked out on her about 2 months ago. She just found out she's pregnant and told him (she was told she couldn't) He then changed his e-mail address so she can't reach him. He moved to another state by the way....and then she found out he left because of another woman! They were married for 6 years and they are still legally married (although divorce procedings have started). He has 4 other children by a previous marriage and he hasn't told THEM yet!! What should she do?

ask for child support in the divorce and make sure it comes directly out of his pay check other wise she can forget ever seeing anything from him she can also have his paternal rights revolked and he will be required to pay child supoport and no right to ever see the child it can be a win win sutuation.

I am assuming that since you said the divorce proceedings have started that she has an attorney but if she hasn't she needs to get one like yesterday. Since there is a baby as result of this marriage the attorney can add custody/child support to the list of things to be determined when the divorce is finalized. He can also arrange an paternity test if the husband wants to act like the baby isn't his. I have no doubt that her attorney would tell her but just in case she needs to know to not sign anything until paternity can be proven so child support can be added to the proceedings. Its really not that complicated of a process so tell her not to worry assuming the baby is his. If thats the case she has nothing to worry about. He is obligated by law to provide atleast financially for the child. If I were her I would be counting my blessings that I was having a child after thinking that I couldn't and to know that I found out what a creep my husband was before she gave birth.

It sounds as if the couple have no other children together. If so, she should either have an abortion, or if she morally objects to that, she should give the child to one of the many loving families waiting to adopt. If she keeps this child, she will have nothing but frustration in dealing with this loser ex-husband for 18 years.

After the divorce is done, go and get on the state's welfare system unless she is working and can pay for everything herself. She should cut the man completely out of her life and move on. She can still meet a better man.

She should follow through with the divorce. This man was planning to leave, he just needed a good reason and her being pregnant was it. How sad.

She should be strong and raise her child herself. He is not a responsible person. But make sure she finds him and gets child support because she didn't make the baby herself. Whatever she does, make sure she doesn't call the Maury Show

If she wants a baby that bad then she will need to accept the fact that she will be raising this baby alone. If she can handle it...more power to her.If she can't handle it then she needs to consider abortion or adoption. He obviously wants nothing to do with her and she is only hurting herself by trying to contact him when he has very blatantly made him self disappear from her life.

get the paper for child support and find out his name and last name and find out his ssn, find out where his real address and give to child support dept and they will send him a letter and let him know that he will be paying child support and when the wife found out that he need to pay and it will destroy his marriage and there... He lie to you and lie to his wife and kids.....now he going to face real life.... so there. Hope that solve the plm.

Hire a private detective to track him down, ask for child support (if he doesnt believe it's his child ask for a DNA)--if they don't have a prenup, then she's entitled to half of his estate, house, 401K, etc. I would advise your friend to consult a lawyer ASAP.
