how do I scan a paper from my computer, so I can type on it on the computer?

I need to scan a questionaire to fill it out on my computor.

Hopefully, your scanner has OCR software. This will allow you to view it as a Word document.

Note: There may be some extra marks on this document (marks on the paper, etc.). To get rid of these extra marks, simply select them and cut them. Be sure to proofread the document for any errors.

That can be a problem, since even if you OCR (optical character recognition) it after scanning, you'd probably lose the shape of the original form.
I usually scan things like that and fill them in with PhotoShop, but that is an expensive program.
You might try to put in into MS word after scanning it.
Try a typewriter...

your scanner and software have to be OCR--optical character recognition. With that, you can edit a scanned document. Without it, the only thing you can do is to add text boxes each time you want to fill in the questionairre, which would be a real pain. Check your scanner /software to see if it has this feature (not all do).

It requires special software to scan a document and then be able to manipulate the text.

If this is a simple matter of checking boxes, you can scan it in and then put a picture of a checkmark on whatever box you wish to check. However, if you're looking to type in answers, you really need the software.

You can try scanning in it in Editable text format -- its one of the options u can choose while scanning...but to tell you the truth..the end-product is not that good and you have to work on it to make it look presentable.
