Please be careful it is a surgical procedure.

“HILTON'S METHOD should always be used if there is anything near the abscess which you might possibly injure. Incise the tissues down to the deep fascia, then push blunt scissors or a haemostat into the softest or most prominent part of the swelling. Open them out inside the abscess. If necessary, enlarge the wound by blunt dissection inside the tissues.” See reference 1.

“Where pus has formed in relation to important structures—as, for example, in the deeper planes of the neck—Hilton's method of opening the abscess may be employed. An incision is made through the skin and fascia, a grooved director is gently pushed through the deeper tissues till pus escapes along its groove, and then the track is widened by passing in a pair of dressing forceps…” see reference 2 Treatment of Acute Abscesses.
