try coffee grounds (dry and unused, of course), but start out by putting them under the cushions just in case they leave a mark. Coffee grounds are good for getting out bad smells, that's what they use on airplanes when someone barfs on a seat or carpet.

First, let me say that cleaning leather is a dangerous game. Cleaning can change the color or appearance of the leather. Make sure to test on a small invisible patch of leather before proceeding on the whole item.

One recommendation is to mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts linseed oil, shake well and apply to the leather using a soft cloth. Work in a circular motion, covering the entire surface. Rub in thoroughly, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then buff with a soft cloth to bring a shine to the leather surface. You may need to buff once more before sitting on the furniture.

Another suggestion is to fill several bowls with pure white vinegar around the room the furniture is in. It should reduce the odor considerably and be less of a headache than the cleaning process. Good luck!

Spray with window cleaner .and wipe with a soft cloth. It will clean up the leather and remove surplus tobacco residue. When finished polish with Mr sheen or similar.
