actually yes! amd processors are great. the 3700 is a good idea of how fast it is. i have a x2 4200. it has a 2.2 ghz processor with a 2.0 ghz front side bus. the way to get an idea of how fast it is, is to look at the core speed and fsb speed. my 4200: 2200mhz(processor)+2000mhz(fsb)=4200.

intel chips have faster core speeds, but the fastest front side bus is only 800mhz. the front side bus is the only way for the chip to talk to the rest of the computer, so really the computer can only go as fast as the fsb will allow.

basically... AMD all the way!
