I've got into Yahoo Answers quite recently and the questions I have asked have required personal opinions, not copy & paste! If I wanted that I'd do it myself!

Because some people either lack the skills or the sense to do a search and find the answers themselves. Just because you prefer personal opinions, doesnt mean everybody does. Some answers such as those refering to laws are based on fact, not opinion.

Some people don't posess the intelligence to look up things in an encyclopaedia, and therefore feel the need to ask here on answers rather than do the work for themselves.
Doesn't bother me - I have gained points from it where the answer is an obvoius one!

You prob. need to say so because a lot of the people on here are lazy and some people that answer assume that: too lazy to look it up themselves. Also, getting it directly is more factual based.

That's the whole point - some people are too lazy to even do that themselves. They ask damn fool questions that they could easily research answers to themselves but can't be bothered.

a question that askes for personal opinion should be met with such. however, many questions are fact based, and providing a web-source is considered a plus.
