No Pakistan is not an arab country. In fact, it is not even in the Middle East. But it is definitely a muslim country. The entire name is The Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It was specifically made for muslims when the British left India in 1947. They wanted to split it so all the muslim majority areas went to Pakistan (which was on the east and the west) and hindu majority went to India (smack down the middle). But then Pakistan had a civil war in 1971 and Pakistan split. East Pakistan gained independence and became Bangladesh and West Pakistan just became Pakistan.
It was the most populous muslim country until recently when Indonesia became the largest Muslim Country.
Pakistan also became the only officially recognized nuclear power in May 1998.

Pakistan was part of India before Indian independence. Once the British pulled out, India divided itself in two -- the western part for Muslims, the rest for Hindus. The western part became known as Pakistan, and it is basically an Islamic country ("arab" country). Later, the far eastern part wanted independence because of religious conflicts. It became Bangladesh.
Just remember that the original division was based on religion, not on race or ethnicity.
