So tell me guys and gals...basically I asked a question....JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY...(If you look under my recent questions, you will tell which one) and some A-S HOLE took it to the extreme and answered me in a very rude way...telling me my ex from Spain was from Mexico, to get over it, learn geography blah blah blah...So I told him where to stick it as anybody would. I answered one of his questions rudely in return and he cried and reported me.
I rec'd my first violation for this & they deleted my content...What's the process now?...Any of you out there familiar with the whole suspension thing...Is this like a warning? What's the process? Any help is appreciated.
I don't know...even when people piss me off, I would rather exchange some words with them but not be a nark that goes whining to authorities and turning people in.
Basically...what's the hole suspension process?
Thanks

Well, if somebody is really disgusting and continues being disgusting over and over again and even gets worse, I can understand reporting them. But I just looked at the question before this, and it seems HE's the one, if anybody, who should be reported. I mean who is he to be telling you who you were married to? The guy seems like a real nut case! I wish there was some way to contact Yahoo and plead your case, but I don't know how. Sorry!

I've been reported 6 time for failing to q/a a question or answer ....clearly I was not really in violations any of the guidelines any of the times, so the Team dismissed them all and I've never been suspended....there are people out there....many times kids who will do this for fun. I don't know how you found out who it was who actually reported you, because really it can be anybody unless the person actually tells you they've reported you....this has been a pet peeve of mine and I've told the Team so. i think we have a right to know who reports us....that being said, be careful about retaliating, because among the things you can be legitimately reported for is INSULTING an individual....i'm sorry this happened to you....trust me, i know how it feels, but believe me if you were really suspended, you wouldn't be on here...and the Team takes everything into account. Let it go...the guy [or girl] will eventually make so many enemies, they will be suspended themselves...i've seen it happen, so hang in there.

well, i read the question that you're referring to, and i agree that the guy was out of line to take things that seriously, but on the other hand, you DID kind of go off on a cursing tangent that may or may not have been necessary (but it was funny as hell). you will almost always get an answer that you don't agree with. let it roll off of your back...

as for this question, i have been reported a few times and i still really don't know why. some people are just jackasses who think it's fun to click on things. i got the usual e-mail telling me my content was removed...and that's it. i think that the only way you can really get suspended is if you are constantly being reported for one thing or another. they look at the abuse reports on a case-by-case basis, so if this guy reports you for absolutely nothing, just to get even, they won't do anything.

don't worry about it. it eventually happens to everyone. just put him on 'your list.' good luck!

hehe... he really did cry? what a sissy. i didn't find anything offending about the question, it's a little bit generalized -- that's why some people were confused. but it is true i guess, that each country have their own way of saying "hello" over the phone -- no reason to cry about though.

i don't see the question you answered though...

im not sure about the whole reporting thing -- some people get reported but still appear here on yahoo answers. some people get reported once, and they get kicked out. i don't know how it goes... i guess it depends on whoever's checking the report? just guessing.

Dunno, but some tardo reported me yesterday because my question "wasn't in the form of a question" *rolls her eyes* I don't report anyone...pisses me off. That is the lamest reason to report someone. People have way too much time on their hands if they're going to sit and report people for stupid stuff like that. I could understand if I had done something offensive or threatening, but not putting it in the form of a question? OMFG...super-lame.
And btw, yeah I think they're just warnings at first. Not sure how many it takes to get your account suspended.

I know nothing about the suspension process but I'm a gringo who speaka no Spanish and I answer the phone "Hola" or "Buenos Dias."

I think "hello" sounds silly. (I don't say "Merry" either...for the same reason.)

Some people just need a life. If we all used the same words all the time, life would be more boring than it already is.

Im not too sure what the process is but I totally agree with you I myself would rather exchange words or just ignore someone rather than report them

The assholes can dish it out but they can't take...I get reported every time I get on here, so if they suspend me, maybe it will get me out of the habit of wasting time here....A good idea would be to open up an account just to use here in case they did suspend your regular email...but I doubt that will happen..LOL
