I know that Karaoke equipment can read audio CD's (.cda format), as well as Karaoke CD's (CD+G format).

I want to know if there are Karaoke machines that are capable of reading a standard audio CD, and determine which digital track(s) the vocals reside on and to be able to NOT play those specific tracks.

I therefore would like to play a standard audio CD, and be able to play it purely as an instrumental.

Please provide some reccomendations of Make and Model numbers or some other way to strip the vocals from a standard audio CD.

Thank you.

No, you cannot do that with a Karaoke machine. Infact, it is VERY difficult to remove a vocal track from a CD completely. It depends on how the individual song was recorded. Also, it may be recorded on the same track as another instrument OR have experienced what those in the recording industry call "bleed through". This means that even though you remove the vocal track itself, it is still present on other tracks. It costs a few hundred thousand dollars for the proper equipment to strip vocals from a CD. It also takes YEARS of experience and training to do so effectively. I have done it a few times for PBS and CBS. I have also modeled the text and framed it with CDGs. If there is a particular song you are looking for e-mail the song title, and artist, to me and I will most likely be able to find it for you on CDG.

the video demonstrate I sparkling with a small towel. those that are handheld I rub them on my shirt or slacks as necessary. in specific situations I spit on them first in the event that they are very grimy. Keyboard I only tip it the different way up and faucet it on the table and all varieties of crumbs fall out.
