My husband and I were married in 2004 and we waited until we were married, we were so glad we made that decision. Why don't people do this anymore?

I understand you saying that they might not be "good" but if you didn't do it before you wouldn't know anything else.....what if you met the person of your dreams and loved him so much that you couldn't live without them, then had sex and they wern't as goo as they person you slept with last week....but if you had waited, then it would be great to you

the person you spend the rest of your life with is not a "car" or a pair of "shoes"- those you don't keep forever

I think it's becoming harder and harder for these kids to value and respect their bodies. The media, tv and society in general has so much sexual exploitation most kids think it's cool to have sex. It's really great that you both waited, I'm sure you had a great wedding and a wonderful wedding night.

how old are you? you've most likely married young. I'd rather have sex and enjoy discovering that aspect about the person i love. Get to know them in that aspect as well, because good sex is something that will help my marriage in the long run. For some reason, people who wait get married young.. young couples are less likely to last.. statistics show.
Listen, all i know is that when i get married to the person that I WILL spend the rest of my life with (because i value marriage) i want to be secure with my choice in life, because i only have one life. Some say sex is an unimportant aspect, some say the others health habits are unimportant, the things they like to do for fun, some say the way they like to discipline children is unimportant to consider in a marriage.. people's opinions differ as to what is important or how much importance is placed on something. Whatever aspects you have to consider that will help you find that special someone for U, then consider them. More liekly than not that other person you find considers them important too and it makes you compatible and able to build a happy marriage that will work.

One problem with the whole "try before you buy" is that it presupposes that sexual "differences" that arise are insurmountable. If you love someone, you make concessions, and you make it work. Unfortunately I think that's often considered to be too much work.
Also, ideally, if both parties have waited, then they'd both be completely ignorant and figure everything out together! I know, I know, "But what if I find out that I really like X Y or Z, and he/she really DOESN'T like those things? What then?!?" Gee, I guess it's the end of the world. Seriously, you talk about it, be willing to not get everything you want, and work through it.

Put it to you this way, would you buy a car before you test drove it? No you would at least take it for a little spin, before you commit to it, what if there were major problems ex: too small, not enough excitement. NOW YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT FOR THE REST OF IT'S LIFE.

I think with the temptations out there, the younger generation is finding it harder to hold out. I also wonder if anybody really cares about there bodies anymore except to get pleasure. I would have waited until I was married but was raped by my stepdad when I was 12.

Because no one wants to buy a pair of shoes without trying them on.

I agree with Renegade Priest...ya gotta take the car for a test drive to see what's under the hood before you buy it!! Sex is too important to me to have just left it to chance...I'm not that bold.

I agree with Renegade Priest .... !
If I'm going to live with you and be with you for the rest of my life I want to make sure I know I'm making the right decision.

Personaly, I wouldn't buy a car without test driving it, so why would I approach something that important without doing likewise?
