the clean air act was passed by jfk. like the other pro-enviornmental legislation it was passed by a democrat.

JFK was not in office then.

This is what happen when he was in office.
amendments of 1960
Extended research funding for four more years.

amendments of 1962

"An Act to improve, strengthen, and accelerate programs for the prevention and abatement of air pollution"

Oddly,, if you were to check on the recent results of that act.... the current air has been established to be exceptionally clean. Wonder how that came about when there have been other than democrats in the white house???

Clean air act does no good here in Texas--Mexican coal plants right across the border send pollution north on prevailing winds. Another government intrusion that is at best ineffective.

I wouldn't compare JFK to today's Democrats. Today, JFK would be a Republican.

Did JFK believe in social welfare.... 'Ask not we your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country'.

Fiscal conservative.... Largest tax cut in U.S. history resulting in more revenues to the Government.

Strong on National Security... Cuban Missile crises....

Sounds like a Conservative, not a Liberal.
