From all the movies I've seen, including his first "Bottle Rocket", it has always been slightly weird. I think it is a birth defect, but it definitely makes him unique. When my sister was born, her nose was all the way to the side, and the doctors had to put a little strap on her nose for awhile to straighten it out (She layed on one side when in my mom's belly). Maybe it is something like that?

I don't know, his Nose has been like that for a long time though (at least since bottle rocket in mid to late 90s)

I read in a magazine once that he broke his nose during some sort of sporting accident. I don't remember when or where, or what sport it specified though. Sorry.
