Because at work- it's inapropriate (I'm a nurse), in college - they were way too young for me, bars are disgusting and I've seen nothing but losers on dating websites...

P.S. I'm not trying to pick anybody up here. I just want an opinion of educated people

Good luck. I'm 30, educated (I guess if you consider a research chemist as educated), nice, and good looking. If you find a good answer please let me know. I would be interested to know where I can find a good woman (yes, I'm a man). Church is always a good place, but I also think it is important to find someone of similar intelligence.

This qualifies as science--even if in the "other" category--how?
But, anyway...
You're a nurse and attractive. Where are you a nurse, in a geriatric facility? What about all your educated, male co-workers? Or, are they all taken? No educated, proper age, male patients have been assigned to you either?
A good place to look is someplace you like to be. Bookstore, museum/planetarium, etc. That way if you do see or meet someone there, you will have at least one thing in common to talk about and break the ice. Then, again, some idiotic males out there are afraid of good looking AND smart women as far as being in a relationship is concerned. They like the former as friends and the latter only as colleagues to help with work. But good luck, enjoy the search and hopefully enjoy the find more.

There are good and bad dating sites. Yahoo Personals, Match.com and eHarmony are the best in my opinion (met my wife on Match.com).

As for other places, you can meet people through volunteering (you'll meet people with similar values and interests) or through doing your own personal activities. One venue I find good is wine tastings. I've been to dozens and every time there are plenty of single women and men. A good wine bar is also a good venue. People go there to drink good wines as opposed to getting "lit" at a regular bar.

They should be flocking to you all the time if you are pretty, nice and educated. There has to be something wrong with you or your personality for them to stay away from you.
Stop looking into your magic mirror and use regular mirror instead. Do you still look pretty and nice then?

Try a bookstore or a coffee shop. Or better yet a bookstore with a coffee shop inside.
