I mean I turn it on and all there is is a bunch of junk, nothing is ever worth watching and the news is depressing. I could do so much more with my evening than sit in front of the thing like a zombie and space out for 4 hours before I go to bed. And I pay $50.00 a month for something that really isn't very practical. That could be a weeks worth of gas to get to work and back. Should I just get rid of the thing?

i'm disabled and early-retired in Mexico. I had to settle on between television and the web. I chosen the latter because there are better issues it ought to do. i have not watched a television for roughly six years now. Do I bypass over it? sure, some. Fuller information publicizes and good previous videos besides as such issues as Discovery Channel and technological information classes on PBS. i don't understand what you propose about "letting the spirit enter," yet once you're speaking about a bornagain faith, i am going to take a bypass on helping you with that one. If no longer, ask your self this question: Is a knife good or evil? it is neither. the coolest or evil is contained in the fellow utilising it, no longer the knife itself. an similar applies to a television. it is all in the way you take advantage of it, in what you pick to view on it. Even the undesirable stuff is sweet to computer screen now and back - exceptionally if it truly is undesirable - because how else are you able to keep tabs on the parts the position our society is degenerating into such issues as lawlessness, pedophilia, and so on.? you could't even attempt to have an effective result on society in case you don't understand what those undesirable issues are all about. by technique of ignoring them completely, you let them rock on, unimpeded. Is that what your spirit may have you ever do? yet are you able to stay and not using a television? positive. And if it turns a settee potato right into a better bodily energetic individual, much better. maximum individuals may do lots better with lots a lot less television of their lives. instead of sopping up the records, spoon-fed and predigested, they could actual carry out somewhat library analyze on significant subject matters before arriving at an opinion. That'd be astounding, certainly. authorities and the media were "dumbing-down" human beings a procedures too lengthy. it truly is time we reclaimed our personal brains and our personal skills to benefit about reality. yet no gadget has a spirit to be evil WITH. And $2 hundred a month for cable! EEK. it truly is virtually what I pay in employ! it is lots a lot less in Mexico - finished provider and programming, too.

Well, if you don't want it and you don't need it then no!!
I would much rather curl up on my couch and read, but to some people that's strange!!
The other day i was sitting in my living room watching T.V. and everything was either a new reality series or just some stupid mess that wasn't worth my time!!

So, NO sweetie you are not weird for wanting to get rid of your television!!

The cancelling cable and watching movies thing IS a good idea, but if you wanna get rid of it all together then the more power to you. I have a friend who doesn't own or WANT to own a television. Go ahead and do it if you wish. There are lots of other rewarding past times you can do.

Of course you're crazy. I can send you a certificate to prove it. Oh, wait...it has my name on it.

But as far as the TV thing goes...take that ****** out, beat it with a bat and call it demeaning names as you crush its spirit.

Let me suggest that you use a metal bat and leave it plugged in while you beat it.

It will show sparks of love.

Kill your television. Its a waste of space.

Cept for "Scrubs", "Family Guy" and "South Park" and the occasional lesbian softcore porn on Scinemax.

your not crazy at all.

the only thing i use my tv for is to play xbox online, or if the wife wants me to watch something with her.

as far as the 50 bucks, it all depends what you want to spend it on. im sure basic channels arent that much, so you could save some money.

my fiance and i are thinking of getting rid of our living room and bedroom tv's and just having a small one in the family room,

so i think it's a great idea. we should occupy our time in more productive ways. and yahoo answers should not be one of them, but it's just so fun to do at work.
