Here we have potentially World War Three in the Mideast, No. Korea with nukes, a trillion dollar debt to Communist China, the Army bogged down in Iraq, and what is Congress doing today? Debating the anti-gay Marriage Amendment, which already died in the Senate. Do you feel betrayed and insulted by Congress?

yes, they could be considering how to educate our children, get people off of welfare, working on a balanced budgget to get us out of debt, and telling the rest of the world to deal with their own problems. Unless of course they decide to get rid of that stupid thing and pass a law allowing for gay marriage.

Yes, there are many things Congress could be doing however, many congressmen are in the pockets of the far left and the far right which have nothing better to do than promote their own agendas. Unfortunately, the hotbutton issues for both factions really should be considered non-issues in a rational world.

No, it is the most important item on the agenda to be resolved. It is too important to be subverted by other things of lesser need. The Christian right deems it so.

Forget about the foreign crises, minimum wage, energy supply problems, global warming, et al. The Christian Right is 100% correct in this.

The Christian Right is not much different from radical Muslims and the Taliban--" Agree with us or die"

And the rest of the country is 100% wrong and should be damned from the highest pulpits.

Actually, I am very happy to see our elected brethren debating anything that doesn't have to do with money or life and death. We could encourage them to debate whether or not a non-virgin should have the right to wear a white wedding dress, next. You see, anytime these bought-and-paid-for representatives of the people address something that can enrich them and their sponsors, we suffer!

Well, since they're morons for the most part, I for one am happy that they entertain themselves with the nonsense they do. I mean really, can you imagine a nitwit like Bobbie Boxer with any real influence or power? I shudder at the thought!

dont you see, it is simply a distraction...bush wants to try and win the value voters back to the polls for the midterm elections, and knows with approval ratings so low that he will have to spark an interest with the Republicans that are so disgusted with him IE..operation distraction....Republicans are notoriously disapproving of gays, so they think that it wiill bring the value voters to the polls when they would have rather stayed home instead of picking between poisons...May be farfetched, but what do you think??
