Texas is an awful state.

If you have a large income, and the father doesn't, there's not much you can do. Especially if your income is significantly larger than it was before the child support rulling. Another problem is that when you get married again, child support will all but disappear. But this is something you seriously need to speak to a custody lawyer about. Have they given you a reason for keeping it? There are alot of details that need to be thought about. If you do get a hearing about it and they rule in your favor, there will be no reason to sue, because the state will give you back pay as well. Won't that be nice, to get all that at once? Good luck!

Have you had government assistance? That's the only way a state is supposed to keep child support payments. If you have had assistance, then in essence, you owe the state.

Thats odd, I live in Texas and my mom collected child support for us kids through the attorney general. The payment my father sent was always forwarded to her through them, in full. I'd ask about that.

Well you need to find out why. They don't keep any child support for financial gain. Maybe if you owe the state, or the IRS, they may keep it to pay your debt, but they will inform you as to why!

Don't understand why this would happen? Do you owe the state or people money? If you are that concerned why haven't you contacted legal support by now?
