DBZ. Saiya-jins rule. DBZ is what got me hooked on anime to begin with. I mean, I know that it gets repetitive, and the Z Warriors and the villains spend a lot of time talking trash to each other, and the fact that the characters are named after food and clothing, is kind of annoying, but DBZ is still a great show and always will be. Anyone that says otherwise needs to lighten up. I wouldn't be such an anime fan if all I watched were serious sci-fi mind benders. And, I tried watching Naruto once...for about 30 seconds, and I came to the conclusion that it seems like a really bad dub, unfortunately. And I am a big supporter of dubs these days. Btw, fansubs are unreliable, in my humble opinion. I'd recommend licensed versions, but with subtitles enabled.

they're both good. Naruto started off strong but then slowed down around episodes 180, but in the mangas when they're grown up, its gets very interesting. Kinda like how Dragonball got a lot more interesting when Goku grew up. So both are equally good with different elements. You can also throw in Bleach in this pile I think
*Edit
stop watching US television released and get some fansubs? If you want to watch the up-to dates on Naruto it has to be fansubs, no other way of getting them. Also, what you're saying sounds like they're good until they get licensed and get released here dubbed.

Dragon Ball comes first (Goku is a newborn in this one), then DBZ (Goku is an grownup, although he continues to be mentally a newborn), and then GT, wherein Goku's young ones are grown and function young ones of their very own (and likely, Goku continues to be around and nonetheless as idiotic). Do your self a want and don't watch this one. it is worse than a cleansing soap opera, because of the fact each conflict takes twenty episodes, and maximum of them incorporate a "he's no longer that sturdy! Wait, he's that sturdy! yet no, he won't be able to be that sturdy!" development wherein the different character gets killed off after that's delivered back to existence with the aid of Goku. and then we could desire to recap each little thing it is got here approximately, that's somewhat, somewhat stressful. That pronounced, the instruct has it is sturdy factors. it is humorous adequate at cases, and various the characters are remarkable (Vegeta is my renowned). If I have been you, although, i could watch DBZ and then probably GT, skipping DB. the 1st instruct is not any sturdy in any respect, and you'd be able to atone for all of it only with the aid of interpreting the wiki get entry to for it. the rest have extra desirable animation and extra desirable characters besides.

My personal preference is Dragonball Z. I havent watched Naruto, however, so take that with a rather large grain of sailt. The bright, cheerful seeming animation just didnt appeal to me, and the idea of a ninja highschool (or whatever) seemed silly.

Neither, they both suck and so do there fanbase. The fans of these shows will watch nothing else and base there opinions on just these shows, which storyline and character wise are poorly put together compared to what else is out there.
Stop watching US television released anime and get some fansubs!

well it depends if u like shows that have action about every 200 episodes and 199 episodes of talking, well then dbz is your show, but on the other hand if you like well made story plots and lots of action naruto is for you. Sorry DBZ fans but u know it's true.
