It does die - and for as many reasons as it came into being. I suspect the philosophers have been looking for the answers to this question for a long time - but yes, love does die. My ex b/f Mike taught me that lesson.

Love begins with some base. When the base itself is not there, love finds its place elsewhere. The base may be sympathy, need, vaccum, materilistic requirments, security and what not. If the love is without reason, it may last even if that person is physically away or at distance. The another reason is wrong conceptions about love and affection. The relationships end or divorces occurs because in the begining of relationships or love, we show or disclose only good things to the other person, and we see or notice only good things of the oposit person or we many times overlook the bad qualities. The main reason for divorce is we dream of only ONE person, and not his/her family members which will be an integral part of our life. Once we get the love, we are lease bothered about the feelings of others because we have already got him/her. We show or display love and affection becasue we want to get him/her, and once we get him/her we show our true colours. Life is real. Pyar toh 24 ghanta kitya ja sakta hai, per 25we ghante mein bhook lagti hai. Because of the time limit I have given short answer, If I can get some time, I would like to answer this question in detail

yes, the "love hormone" the body produces dies out at about 18 months. After that it is all about respect and caring. Which is why relationships fail. If it is based on the initial "love" and you haven't grown together then it will fail. The initial "love" sets up the relationship but you have to put in some serious work if you want it to continue,

To me love doesn't die, other emotions just overgrow it. Like if someone says they don't love you anymore, it's because they never did. They mistook the physical attraction towards you as love and as the physical attraction fled, so did their beliefs of their "love".

"Death cannot stop true love- it can only delay it for a while." (I love that movie.) If it's true love, it can't. If not, then yes, it can.
