I'm gonna get braces and I was wondering how long they need to stay on?

It all depends on what it is for and what it needs to do. I had braces for 2 years while my friend had them for 5 (rare) another friend 6 months and another a year. It all varies.

I had braces for almost 2 yrs it all depends on what it has to be "fix" ....the orthodontist will make a impression (or mold of your teeth) after they do they will tell you in your next appoinment how long you will have your braces on....but is worth the time!!

I have braces too, and what you are talking about is the elastic bands. Whatever you do, try not to move/touch it. What you are supposed to do is contact your orthodontist right away. You may be able to get in sooner. If it is really bugging you, you can take some pliers and carefully pull the end of the elastic band back around your bracket. Hope this helps!

I think as an average its usually about two years...i had mine for two years and two months, and most of my other friends have had theirs on for about two years before they got them off. but i have to wear retainers now but its better than braces. good luck!

It depends on how much work they ned to do on you. I had terribly crooked teeth and needed three pulled and several shifted and had mine on 3 years.

it depends from personm to person and how bad your teeth are but i think the averave is 14-18 months but i know many people who have had them for years but when you go to the orthodontist they will tell you their estimate specifically for you
