One of two reasons are obvious to me, at least: I think that this is because you are a native English speaker and the sound of the word triggers a sensation perhaps attached to another word that you may not have considered, or you may have a deep-seated, perhaps repressed memory involving peaches. Since you say you love them, I'm inclined to believe you have had a positive experience involving them, so consider yourself lucky! At least you don't cringe every time you hear the words "tomato sauce" or something like that; my husband shivers when someone mentions Peach Schnapps because he was very sick off of it when he was 14, and he has the sensory impression to this day.
