Could someone explain to me the appeal of the Jerry Springer show? I mean, whenever, you get a phone call and the person on the other end of the line says, "Hi, this is 'Bob' with the Jerry Springer show . . ." IT CAN'T BE GOOD NEWS, but day after day people will take the phone call, take the plane ticket(s), and make a fool of themselves on national television, and be proud of it.
Don't get me wrong, I'll admit that I was a bit of a fan about 10 years ago, but the story line has not changed one bit since then.
I guess it's just proof that everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame.
Please expain what you like/dislike about the show.

Congrats, you deserve the ten points for answering your own question. :)
Even though that show is as fake as Tori Spellings boobs, everyone who appears on the show knows what to expect. As you said, everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame.

I think that people want to see extremes in behavior, personality and appearance, and that's why they watch daytime talk shows. Most people are very insecure deep down and want the reassurance that, somewhere, there is someone even more twisted and disturbed than they are. Don't get me wrong, I'm one of those people and I've watched Jerry Springer before, but I also watched it knowing that a large percentage of the action is staged (and/or intentionally provoked), and I wanted to see just how far people will go for their 10 seconds (15 minutes is too generous for Jerry Springer) of fame. Curiousity is also a legitimate reason; I got depressed very quickly thinking about these people's lives the other 364 days of the year, though, so that's what I didn't like.

The Jerry Springer tutor remains on the air!? I used to computer screen that in extreme college and each and each and every from time to time till about a 365 days in the past. I watch that tutor by using interest freak ingredient. I cant believe that some each and every individual is actual like that. now and again i ask your self if it is all made up, yet then there are circumstances when I say to myself they couldn't pay those human beings adequate to humiliate themselves like that on a television tutor which will attain thousands and thousands of watchers.

Is Jerry Springer still on the air?!?! You've got to be kidding...
I hate that show. Everything is so fake- I am sure most people just make stuff up to get on the show and get a free plane ticket and hotel stay.

I used to watch Jerry Springer, many years ago. Now, I think some people just watch because of the stupidity of it all. It's kind of like a car wreck where, you know it's going to be really awful, but you just can't look away. Plus, people are idiots.

I have no idea why the show is so appealing, other than people like to see that other people have faults and can readily admit it when confronted with it. It's nothing but a bunch of hoopla and canned human drama. It is somewhat of a diversion from everyday life I guess, cause when you think about it, whose life is that darn crazy???? I must lead a boring life, and I like it that way! For people to get on that show and admit some of that way out stuff, it's just plain crazy.

You're sitting in your mobile home. Its hotter than hell inside and its tornado season outside. Your seven kids (aged infant to 7) are going berzerk. You haven't heard from your husband/wife since he/she went to the tavern last week for a pick-me-up. Your car is on blocks in the yard. There are all matter of flies, ticks, fleas, dogs, cats and lizards crawling around. The last decent meal you had was a half a super burrito you found on the floor this morning for breakfast. The closest thing you have to decent food in the house are a couple of opened bags of pork rinds sitting in the cupboard. You haven't showered in days, the dishes haven't been cleaned in weeks, the bed hasn't been made in months.
Now, what do YOU want to watch on tv?

I definately agree! the story line has not changed one bit from a few years ago. I used to watch it when I was in high school, but now it's just a waste of my time.

It's a pathetic freak show. However, I do watch a few minutes of it, occasionally. I shouldn't, but it's hard to change the channel once you get interested. I can't believe anyone would want to make a spectacle of themselves like that.
