Never, it's too benificial to their rich friends and interests.
For all you doubters in here:
CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater.
Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950.
(see links below)
How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.
There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.
Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Actually, termites contribute ten times as much CO2 to our atmosphere than all the industries of humanity. And global warming is also happening on Mars, where there are no SUVs. It appears that the major cause is the Sun itself, because it is the only thing we have in common.
Regardless of whether it is caused by pollution or the Sun, we still need to know how to control it so we can respond as the situation changes. On solution is to use orbital reflectors to cut down on the sunlight reaching the ground. Another is to seed the Antarctic seas with dissolved silica and iron sulfate, causing a huge bloom in ocean microorganisms that trap CO2 and cause fish populations to grow.
We also can plant more plants, and put reflective roofing on buildings. This alone would save over 12 trillion watts of air conditionig expenses and also the energy used to supply air conditioning.
There are actually many ways to change or reverse global warming, but nobody seems to be doing them- they are still arguing instead of doing something. Apparently, they won't do anything until they have a way to make money off it.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone being a "Bushite", but has to do with how we integrate what scientific data is telling us into the need for an ever-expanding economy. The economic stuff creates the opposition to listening to the scientists, and the cause of the economic mess is overpopulation. Its a sort of evil domino effect.
If you want to charge your ideas up, I suggest that you read "Ishmael" and "The Story of B" by Daniel Quinn. What's really sad is that statistics show us that the "average" democrat in the U.S. has about an 8th grade (level) education, while the republicans come in with about a college sophomore level. So, if the republicans are (theoretically) the "smarter" party, then why won't they demonstrate this by listening to the scientists and finding that elusive economic solution??

When they are no longer being controlled by big oil maybe? I wish they'd get off the nonsense about environmentalism being bad for the economy--it could be great for the economy if we have people with enough vision and creativity to roll out some 'green' technology!
And I have to nit-pick a little--global warming *is* a theory, but one with an enormous amount of evidence backing it up.
People get confused on the difference between the word 'theory' in common use (a guess) and 'theory' in scientific use (a tested model of reality).

The global warming religion is intended to scare people like you into submission. How else could the demoncrats get back into power without making you think they are your savior? The only solution they offer is to put them back into the white house. Just like in the 1970's when they tried to claim we were entering another ice age they gave that up quick and jumped on the hot train. I hate to shatter your young mind but you may not know that just 20,000 years ago we were in an ice age here in sunny southern California with woolly mammoths and saber tooth tigers that had long fur to protect them from the harsh icy cold. Also in nearby fossil beds you can find older fossils of the dinosaurs and when they where around it was hotter then hell. So if you believe that man is the cause of global warming now then who caused it before?

When you can back it up with facts not junk.
How much has the earth warmed in 100years?
.6c
Is that all?
Did you know the sun has put out more engey about 2% more.
Since 1980, scientists have monitored geologic unrest in Long Valley Caldera and at adjacent Mammoth Mountain, California. After a persistent swarm of earthquakes beneath Mammoth Mountain in 1989, earth scientists discovered that large volumes of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas were seeping from beneath this volcano. This gas is killing trees on the mountain and also can be a danger to people. The USGS continues to study the CO2 emissions to help protect the public from this invisible potential hazard.
so it this much is killing trees? Think please think!!

When it really stops being a theory. It will continue to be a theory until there is concrete evidence proving it true. Right now all the "proof" of global warming is based upon assumptions and conjecture. It is very likely that global warming is real, but there is not real proof, so your belief that it is real is simply that. . . a belief.

Many of the Bushites aren't convinced of the lack of global warming, only not convinced that it is purely caused by humans.

I am quite offeneded by your post. I used to (Though still slighty) support bush, and I know how real global warming is. Take this phony theory about us Republicans and toss it far away in aq land that no one will ever see again.
You remind me of those vegans with "No blood for oil" stickers...Your car doesnt run on Orange Juice.
