I know a couple of them, like "Schist happens", "Geologists, don't take them for granite", and "If you show me your outcrop, I'll get a little boulder". Does anyone know any othes that they would like to share?

There are so many. The best one is a mineral (an Mg end-member of Amphibole) named after Cummington, England: Cummingtonite. The possibilitess are endless.

Another great mineral name is Analcime.

There is also: Tuff schist, Subduction leads to orogeny, Geologists make the bed rock, to name a few.

I don't know if it counts as a pun or not, but my friends and I will sometimes refer to women being very 'spathic', which is a geological terms refering to the possession of good cleavage.

Did I mention that my friends and I are very geeky? Or is that obvious?

There's a little city in southern Minnesota, Granite Falls. Pretty little place. "We like our Gneiss, but we don't take it for Granite" is on a billboard upon entering town. I haven't been there in years, so I may have misquoted, but that's the general gist of it.
