We are in south carolina, in myrtle beach for our vacation and i feel weird wearing a bathing suit because men keep staring at me, not looking but staring. They are perverts, i'm only 14. I think i'll wear shorts.

at you. just because you are wearing shorts people that are perverts they have low self esteem

Well, I guess it goes with the society we live in. All we see on TV these days is sex and violence, and pornography is so available it's pathetic. Most men have sex on their mind constantly, and they stare and do perverted things almost automatically. I struggle with this problem as well, I am middle aged and young women look very sexy to me. And young girls like yourself these days look older and older all the time. If it does make you uncomfortable, wear a 1 piece with shorts on, because what your shorts are covering isn't all they are staring at, if you know what I mean. 14 year olds, in my opinion, don't be offended by this, shouldn't be showing as much skin as is revealed by a bikini anyways. Yeah..guys can be extremely perverted....when i was a freshman in high school...at age 13...I used to walk to school and home from school....me and my friends would always get guys who would whistle and make noises and say dirty things....now I'm 24 and it doesn't happen as much....its gross to me to know that guys go for those younger girls...I think mainly because guys have these thoughts in there minds that girls at this age are easier targets...what they don't understand is that it will also land them in jail....the only advice i can give you is to ignore it....I know its difficult, but just try to have as much fun as you can and if it gets to the point where you cant handle it anymore or it gets really out of control then talk to someone....maybe someone at the hotel your staying at or your parents....someone that might be able to go up to these guys and say "look ..she's only 14, find something better to do with your time"....good luck...and enjoy your vacation.

Depends on the bathing suit. A one piece that is not cut low in the front or high on the legs and backside will not cause that reaction. Try South Beach in Florida where clothing is optional. any kind of suit will not cause any stares.

Modesty is in this day and age; is commendable. There is always someone rudely staring at you if you are in a public situation. Dressing appropriately should give you a sense of propriety and afford you be in your comfort zone. Perverts are a breed of unconventional voyeurs that live in their own reality. Other people are fodder for their socially unacceptable fantasies. Stay close to your friends and families until you are able to cope with uninvited attention.

Just because a man stares at you doesn't make him a pervert! Perverts have some kind of weird ideas about what to do to a girl or a man it works both ways! And usually have an arrest for that! So I dunno you or them but sounds like you maybe parading self with too little clothes?

Girl, I also feel sorry for you. They are a bunch of idiots. It's not you to blame here, I hope you do realise that. You should be able to sit in a bathingsuit if you want that!
Maybe you should tell them loud and clear (so other people around also hear it) that you don't like it if they stare at you like that.
Maybe they feel ashamed for beeing caught and leave you alone.

People used to marry and have children at 14 in the past, and in other cultures currently. Sexuality is natural. Cover up more and don't pay attention to unwanted glances.

Yeah, and I keep leaving my keys on the front seat of my car with the windows down, and coming back to find it has been stolen. Surprise.
Perhaps what you are wearing isn't as modest as you claim to be in your question. If you have to ask, chances are that's the case.
