Until a few years ago, I would have had no hesitation to draw up a list of three Tory PMs, who were disastrous in their own ways.
Worst ever: Anthony Eden (the mad man who started the Suez War in 1956)
Second: John Major (a man with no ideas, no charisma and no spine)
Third: Margaret Thatcher (the evil witch of the West who ruined a lot of what was good in Britain)
But in recent years Tony Blair is making massive inroads, and I have to nominate him now for the top position, with the three mentioned above coming now in second, third and fourth place respectively. Blair is the only Labour PM and the first PM since Anthony Eden to draw the country into illegal wars and immoral foreign adventures that will cost us dearly. He also destroyed any credibility the Labour Party had and made her - like the Tories - completely unelectable in the future.

Blair. The thatcher years were painful for many. You will see in the next few years just how painful the Blair years will be from now on. He has lied is ridden with sleaze and has done this country a disservice with immigration and the Iraq war. He has infiltrated the English chamber with his Scottish army. He has given our heritage away to Europe. You could go on for ever. He has one good point he has made people see that New Labour was a con.

It definitely wasn't Margaret Thatcher, she brought this country out of major issues, yes she closed the pits, if they had been in private hands, management would have closed them as they were simply not profitable enough. Tony Blair has to be one of the worst, he has not tackled education, immigration, health service and so on, every aspect of government service in reality, they are all in a far worse condition under his rule.
Its no good asking a question like this, use your democratic right and get someone in who can sort the UK out, still there is no one of the calibre of Margaret Thatcher or Norman Tebbitt to really bring the Great back into Britain. All the politicians are too full of politically correctness that they fail to see what really needs to be done, the country needs to be run like a business where the bosses (government) are answerable fully to the shareholders, the voting population. How many of you have said Margaret Thatcher based on what you have been told, or do you really remember her......

Sorry to be a pain and I am not going to enter the debate but only to correct the setting of your question. Your question could only be answered if we no longer had Prime Ministers. Your question should read, "who, so far, has been the worst ever Prime Minister". I have omitted the word English because you are probably referring to British Prime Ministers and quite a few of them have been non-English.

THATCHER! with out a doubt, she was an evil woman who didn,t care about anything or anybody,as long as dennis and mark were doing ok, and both did very well during her REIGN. how did her numb skull son make all those millions in just 5yrs no one seems to know, once mummy was no longer in power he was sussed. thank God! the evil one is no longer.
I must add that her successor came close but was more crass than evil, a joke really, who seems to have wiled away his time in the corridors of power SHAGGING. nice work if you can get it and that place seems to be one of the best places to get it. wonder if they want any ordinary folk in there?
