Well 14 is an interesting age. I dont know if I would say that you should date alone, but you are old enough to have some sort of interaction with girls/boys - RIGHT??? If your parents object to you going out alone, why don't you invite your girlfriend/boyfriend to dinner with your whole family at first? That way, your parents can build a relationship with your sweetie and you can build their trust. So when you REALLY start dating alone - they may be inclined to extend your curfew or something.
As a second step, you could ask your bf/gf on a "group date". That way, you'll have the protection and security of your friends as you become more familiar with dating. I remember when I started, I was extremely nervous and having my friends there helped to break the ice.
MORE IMPORTANTLY - before you start dating, make some decisions about yourself (i.e. what your expectations of dating are, what things you like to do, what your personality is like, etc.). Decide if you are strong enough to handle AND how you will handle all of the potentially negative impacts of dating (i.e. rejection, jerks, sexual pressure, etc.). This will save you a lot of drama. It could also help give you more "good" dates, than disasterous ones...and believe me, the latter is NOT fun.
Good Luck - vote me as best answer!! :-)

The right age to start dating is when one is stable, matured and ready to date. And 14 isn't so fun an age to date, cause at 14 someone is still young and doesn't need to use up energy and time on things like dating.
If you ask me, better to focus on studies at 14, get a good job when one's grown up and then start dating, cause you're gonna pay for the bill from your own pocket so nobody can stop you from dating anyone. And it's more fun to date when you're an adult and you make decisions for yourself.

I think it depends on the person and how mature the person is. Not every 14 year old acts the same way.

Nope! I believe that no child should be allowed to date until they are at least 16. or should be with out their parents for that matter until that age.
