I read a lot about how the Gamecube is considered a failure, but I know that it has sold over 20 million units...pretty close to the original XBOX figures. Why do so many game journalists call the console a disaster? It didn't sink Nintendo and it seems like it did moderately well. I had one for a while but sold it bc of lack of games. Is that why it was considered a bomb? Also, I didn't really like how it looked and how it came in assorted colors...these things made it seem almost like a toy. Did this hurt it's rep. too? The graphics on the thing were pretty nice (better than the PS2's). What's the story?

Most of it is a rumor one person says the grafics are bad everyone he talks to tells others the grafics are bad and so the rumor spreds. I have played games for X-box then played the gamecube version of the smae game the grafics were nearly identical. The difference was so slight that I really did not care. Also there is the games there are not as many games for the cube but more importantly most of the games are like mario most teenagers would prefer shooters or other games with violence so it appealed more to a younger crowd.
Personally I love it. (mainly because it is the only system you can get rogue leader)

I think the only reason why it did okay was because it has so many games, like mario games, that can't be played on Xboc or PS2 (thats the only reason I bought it). Also it was cheap. I think it was considered a failure because out of thw 3 main consoles (Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube) Gamecube was considered the worst. It could not play DVDs or CDs, it had barely any games for adults or even teenagers and I think it sold the least units. It also could not be played online. And what I think the main reason for its "failure" is because it was released last.

I don't know. A lot of people don't like it because a lot of the mainstream games aren't availalibe on Gamecube. I love it myself, and a few of my friends have one as well. I had a ps2 for a while but I got rid of it and bought a gamecube. I'll probably buy the nintendo wii when it comes out also.

The Gamecube wasn't a failure. It attracted many children under the age of 12, while Sony and Microsoft attracted the...well, more "mature" croud.

Yes because It was the least selling game system they have ever made. The game cube has some of the most boring games and the controllers suck. It is just a big piece of junk if you ask me.

The gamecube is perfect for kids. They have better games for them. Xbox and Playstation seems geared towards older teens and adults. I like it for that fact.
