Wait until you have missed your period. Don't waste the money before then. Usually, when you are trying, you but one every time you think you are and they end up being negative. It's not worth the emotional roller coaster ride. If you think you are, but the generic ones, you don' have to buy the expensive, name-brand tests (my fertility doctor and ob/gyn told me this).

It's not how long after sex but how long after your period. The average woman ovulates ( can get pregnant) 14 days after the first day of her period. So if you started your period on July 1st, you could get pregnant around the 14th of July. But remember, sperm can live up to 3 days inside your tubes waiting on the egg to come down so sex a couple of days before ovulation can still get you pregnant. The pregnancy test should be taken the day after you missed your period. There are a few test out there that can detect earlier but only by a couple of days but if you read the small print on the box, only a small percentage of women actually get correct results earlier, meaning you could be pregnant but not far enough to show up on a home test.

you can take one immediately, however, if want to see results, wait until you miss your period next month, or somewhere around the time you would be close to getting it. The best test to take though, is a blood test, it is accurate and urine tests usually aren't. It also depends on the woman. With all of my pregnancies, my HCG levels were so low that I didn't register as pregnant on a urine test until I was almost 4 months pregnant. (and that's not just once) Just remember, every woman is different, so go with the blood test if you can, and good luck :)

Most of the time you want to wait until a missed period. If your periods are pretty regular though, some tests will let you test around 5 days before your missed period. This can decrease the chances of an accurate test though. I know with the test first responce for example, if you take the test after missing your period, the accuracy rate is around 98%, however if you take it 5 days before your missed period the accuracy rate decreases to around 68%. Best thing to do is just wait it out and see your your period comes. Good luck!!

well technically you can take the test as soon as you need to pee after having sex, but it won't show you anything. If you are wondering when will it show if you are pregnant or not, then about 2 weeks, that's when my wife and I found out. But remember it's detecting a hormone in your pee, so if you take it early and it show's negative that doesn't mean you aren't pregnant... a preg test can have a false negative, but not a false positive.... if you take the test to early or not get a good sample of urine or something it may show negative and you not be pregnant, but if it show's you are pregnant, then the hormone is there, and that can't be false

an early response test can be take 5 days before your missed period. A regular home pregnancy test needs you to have missed your period first. A blood test from the doctor can be done and show accurate results within a few days. Good luck!
