This is not an issue of right and wrong. This is an issue of ‘its not our fight, we need to stay out of it’.
There was an oil embargo back in the 70’s that brought America to its knees. Why did this happen? It was because a majority of the Middle Eastern countries decided that they would not supply oil to any country that supports Israel. How did America get out of it? Well the American government helped a crazy dictator in exchange for oil. That dictators’ name was Saddam Hessian.
Support of Israel has always caused trouble for America.
As you stated the fighting between Israel and Lebanon is proceeding. Israel is bombing the crap out of Lebanon using American supplied bombs, planes, tanks, and so on. Odds are the military hardware was supplied as gifts. Yes, for free! Don’t you feel good to know that you are paying for this war?!? Yup, 10 billion, or so goes to Isreal every year!
There will be some kind of fallout over this. In some way innocent Americans will die in some terror attack. This will happen because some moron will decide that Americans should die because our government should not have supplied the Israelis weapons.
This is why Americans need to ‘butt out’ and let Israel settle its’ differences on its own.

President Bush is not "cheering on" as you call it. He would much rather there be peace in the Middle East. He has urged Israel to use some restraint. But he knows that Israel is justified in fighting against Hezbollah and any other terrorists who are so determined to wipe the State of Israel off the map. He supports Israel in their efforts to protect their country and citizens. If we were the ones who had a constant barrage of homicide (suicide) bombers killing innocent citizens here in the US, wouldn't we want our allies to be supportive of us when we went after the perpetrators? If Hezbollah would lay down their weapons this could all be over.

I have not seen Bush43's questions/answers, but Israel has the right to defend itself and its citizen from annihilation.
Of COURSE it is terrible that people are dying. However, Hezbollah kicked it off by kidnapping soldiers, and followed up with hundreds upon hundreds of rockets. They must be held responsible for the results of their actions.
If you poke a tiger with a stick -- especially if you draw blood -- you are responsible when the tiger comes after you, clawing its way through the crowd in which you are hiding.

Yes it is sad that innocent people are dying in both places. but you have to take a look between the lines and look beyond all the rhetoric and see it for what it is. Number one Isreal did not start this war. It was started by terrorist attacks on isreal by Hezbollah and Palastinian terrorist. When these terrorist groups wants nothing more than to destroy Israel, then sadly there is no other choice. The history of the area shows that Israel has shown massive and commendable restraint over the past years and have tolerated wave after wave of terrorist attacks. now they are doing no more than any other country is doing. they are protecting there own citizens against terror. I do however need to correct your statement about President Bush "cheering on" Israel. I do believe that he stated Israel has a right to defend itself against terrorist. he DID ask Israel to use restraint and do reverything it can to limit civilian casualties. to awnser your question, yes it is right what President Bush did state. he is right to support any country in its fight against terrorism.

Damn Bush! If Kerry were elected, he woulda told them Israeelis to lie down and lick their wounds until Islamofascists finished them off. I doubt though the Israelis would've complied.
Is there a way to kill just the guilty ones in a war? Is there a way to shut up just the idiots in any discussion?

War is just that... war. War is necessary. I pray that the U.S. continues to be on the side of Isreal. It says in the Bible that God will bless the nations that bless Isreal. It is our responsiblity to bless Isreal in order to be blessed as a nation by God.
