Sometimes if you leave it off for a long time, it won't come on when you press play. All you do is press "menu." To charge ipods, u can either hook them up 2 a USB cord, or put it in a dock.

You should of got a usb cable with it. It has one plug for the bottom of your IPOD and then a smaller one to plug into the usb port on your computer. You should have the IPOD software installed on your computer, plug it in, and either itunes will open automatically or you can double click it. It will say IPOD updating. when it's updated, press the little eject button beside the name of your IPOD. Just leave your IPOD connected until it says charged!

Read carefully-
1- you take the charger
2- you put one end of the charger in a plug
3- you put the other end in the ipod
4- the ipod starts charging
5- Give it time to say charge complete

I often have problems with my Ipod. Go to the bookstore and get this book called The Ipod & ITunes. It is very helpful.

Plug it into your computer with the cable. It wont play because you probably have the hold command on. You should seriously read the instruction Manuel.

plug it into the USB. and about ur "not-playing" situation, i would recommend beatin tha **** out of it on sum concrete, then If that doesn't work then call the phone # on the box that it came in. Thats whut i did. or wuz it vice-versa. hmmm. i kant remember. Hope it helps.

Try restarting it. On mine, that means pressing menu and select (center button) at the same time and holding them down.
