There's a lot of talk about bytes here, i'm getting hungry i might have a byte to eat, but the answer to your question is the same as everyone else has told you, one gigabyte consists of 1024 megabytes, and one megabyte consists of 1024 kilobytes, one kilobyte consists of 1024 bytes, yes i'm definately going to get that byte to eat now.

8 bits = 1byte
128 bytes = 1Kbit / 1024 bits = 1Kbit
8Kbits = 1Kbyte / 1024 bytes = 1Kbyte
128Kbytes = 1Mbit / 1024Kbits = 1Mbit
8Mbits = 1Mbyte / 1024Kbytes = 1Mbyte
128Mbytes = 1Gbit / 1024Mbits = 1Gbit
8Gbits = 1Gbyte / 1024Mbytes = 1Gbyte
128Gbytes = 1Tbit / 1024Gbits = 1Tbit
8Tbits = 1Tbyte / 1024Gbytes = 1Tbyte

1024. However Seagate (I beleive it is Seagate, could be Maxtor) is going through a lawsuit right now because they used 1000MB as a GB on their HD's so when you got your 100GB HD home and installed it you realized it did not have 100GB's of space.
