I have several years ago. It was the first book by Dostoevsky that I read. I always thought that "Crime & Punishment" was overrated, however. If anything should have been required reading for school it should have been "The Idiot" or "Netochka Nezvanova"("Nameless Nobody"). I also like his short stories.

WHOA -- 4 minutes, and counting after asking that question you've only gotten me to respond??
That silence is deafening, isn't it?
The sound of EMPTY vacuum brains!
Tells you a lot about the mentality of Yahoo Answer answerer's. Now, if you asked, Who saw Hell's Kitchen last night? Or, who's going to be kicked off "So, You Think You Can Dance?" you'll get responses.
You gotta keep away for asking ANYTHING to do with reading. They only read the message boards nowadays. OMIGOSH a BOOK!?!?!?
And anyone who has started to read "Netoshka Niezvanova" .... is mostly likely STILL reading it . . .

pdx--very funny, they do take a while to get through. anyway, i've read the usual, basic ones: crime...brothers....the idiot: but didn't even know about the one you've mentioned. (it appears to have a woman's name as the title?) thanks for the tip, i'll check it out.
