What is living like in Edisto and Folly Beach South Carolina? Is Edisto too far if working in Charleston?

Although I live near Charleston, I don't live in Edisto or Folly Beach. Edisto is a bit of a commute, but if you've ever commuted into a big city this commute probably wouldn't bother you at all. Folly Beach has the advantage of being closer to Charleston and there's obviously more to do. Folly Beach has changed a lot in recent years as some of the older, more interesting "beach-y" cottages are being replaced by bigger homes. It's lost a little of it's fun, funky character. However, it's still a fun place to live and life in and around Charleston is pretty great.
