I cannot throw it away. it is one of my favourite. Any ideas. please

Products like Goo Gone are good to remove gum and other sticky substances. It will leave an oily residue so then you will need to use a cleaner like resolve. You can also try ice. This will make the area hard and it could just peel off. This does not always work, though.

Lay the dress flat & rub ice back & forth over the gum until it gets hard. Once the gum gets hard, the gum will just pull off with something like a butter knife.

You might try dabbing the stain with Alcohol, then pre-treat with Shout or Clorox Stain Remover before washing. Test the material first in an inconspicuous place for fading beforehand though.

try rubbing it wit ice.
