Because of the tone and the content of the jaw flapping from liberals... It is perfectly OK to criticize the administration and the government or the politics of the opposition, but liberals have no loyalty to this country. They place their opinions, their politics above all else. They do not care if they risk the lives of their soldiers who are fighting for their freedom, they do not care if the opinions that they express give aid and comfort to the enemy - hell, they don't even admit that terrorists are our enemy. They are four square opposed to whatever this administration says or does. Liberals talk continually about what an awful country the US is, and about all the awful things that our country does - that we are too rich, too focused on consumption and not environmentally friendly at all. Liberals would much rather see this country fail, than have George Bush get credit for doing anything right. Liberals so love to put this country down - even when there are times, like now, when the economy is strong, the stock market is strong, the tax policies implemented by the President are working - but they will only continue to sing about the things that they view as negative. They do not care about facts or evidence - their proof is their feelings. They feel that the whatever is bad for Bush is good for the country, and have no loyalty to this country whatsoever. To be a liberal is to be diametrically opposed to anything that might be considered statesmenship - because they do not want to see anything good happen to this country, if GW Bush would get any credit for it.

Liberals are, but should not be. A non-Patriot is someone who undermines their country, calls their President or other elected officials names, spreads unfounded rumors about them, and otherwise treats them as "guilty until proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be innocent".
That is sedition. It is presently common to many liberals, but far from all, despite many conservatives (not all) claims.
The same and other people were just as seditious to President Clinton. Some still are. The problem Liberals are facing right now is the same as that faced by the Islamic world.
Because they have not policed their own, they have been taken over by too many people who are seditious. Republicans faced the same problem during President Clinton's terms and did no better. Islam has let terrorists actually become part of the government, have not cleaned them out, cheered their terrorists acts, and now find themselves distrusted by most of the world. Even a majority of the Arab League denounced the acts of Hezbollah.
I'm doing my best to fight it (as a Democrat), encourage Conservatives to fight it in their party, and Islamic people to fight the terrorists.
Who will help?

Why is a "liberal" CON-sidered a non-patriot of the USA?--
Because of the the MYTHS OF NEOAMERICAN FUNDAMENTALISM
Myth No. 1: Liberals support terrorism.
"Liberals" DO NOT support terrorists.
When you don't agree with the method by which an authority is carrying out a punishment against criminal behavior, it does not mean that you don't want the criminals to be punished (i.e., it doesn't mean you "support" criminal behavior it means you don't support the METHOD of punishment). But what are we talking about anyway? The terrorists who should have been punished for the 9/11 attacks are not in Iraq! If you think because members of AlQaida are in Iraq (maybe 10% of the "insurgents") it still justifies a "war" against terrorism it doesn't justify why Iraqi civilians are being murdered in that effort. It doesn't justify why a nation like Iraq can be turned into a host nation for the war against "evil-doers" such as terrorists. That kind of strategy has led to Americans themselves committing the same evil that they accuse terrorists of (e.g., a shock and awe blitzkrieg causing mass destruction, raping and murdering civilians, torturing prisoners).
The other related idea circulating among militant conservatives is that because liberals engage in dissent this disagreement with the president's war strategy somehow "enables" terrorists so that they have some kind of better opportunity to strike. This is sheer folly because it distorts a cause and effect relationship. Even if you rounded up every single liberal in this country, the USA would STILL not be any safer from another terrorist attack. In case you can't tell, the war protests have not held back the war in Iraq or war anywhere, and there is no reason to believe that a terrorist attack in the USA will somehow be thwarted by creating a war in a country like Iraq. It doesn't add up to a cause and effect relationship to say that because "liberals" don't support the Iraq war they are causing an opportunity for a terrorist attack. It doesn't add up to say that because "liberals" don't support the kind of war strategy going on in Iraq this means they are "defending" the terrorists. This idea has become popular because supporters of the war in Iraq are not examining more carefully the horrible negative consequences for Bush's strategy, which at their worst are horrible human rights violations and thousands of civilians already killed. If anything, liberals are "defending" the civilians who are being murdered while these women and children are being called "collateral damage" by people at the pentagon. The war against terrorism doesn't "justify" the deaths of civilians.
The people whose dissent indicates they disagree with a faux war against terrorism in Iraq are being called "liberals" and anti-patriots because of the NeoAmerican fundamentalist (or militant conservativism) ideology spawned after 9/11. A "liberal" is the term now being used to describe someone who is not a member of that ideology, but the actual difference is that liberals don't support the KIND of America that militant conservatives want. It has little to do with liberals not liking America and much more to do with liberals trying to recover what "America" can still be salvaged after Bush's brainwashing of the public about fighting "the enemy" on the enemy's soil.

Not all people think this, but the reason liberal has gotten that at least occasional label is because of the bitter criticism of the war and the Commander-in-Chief. In the past, we argued over whether or not to go to war, but once we did, then we all pulled together and tried to win it. Many liberals are seen as trying to sabotage the war effort.
It's not always a fair label, and it shouldn't be applied to every liberal, but there are just enough far left-wing nuts and just enough unpatriotic acts for the label to exist.

Not all liberals, just the nuts who are running the Democratic Party today. We call liberals un-American because alot of what they stand for is contrary to the principles our country was founded on. And what they stand for that is not contrary, they put into action using weak or non-effective methods.
sissy namby pambies. They are too scared to offend anyone so they don't do what needs to be done!! Political correctness is killing America!

Liberalism stands for nothing this country was founded on. They want to be socialist and have everything controlled. This country was founded on freedom and liberty both of which liberals have no clue about.

Well, I think that the general consensus in the USA is that if you aren't against gay marriage, abortion, and stem cell research, you are non-patriotic, because the bible clearly explains all of these things are a sin towards "God".
