We waited until our son was one. He got the worst rashes when he had any citrus food or juice. He's two now and still gets a little rash, but not as bad. I suggest you wait until they are over one and dilute the OJ with a lot of water (1/4 OJ, 3/4 water).

I wouldn't offer juice to a very young infant, however at 10 months I gave juice to my son. I was told at my son's 18month shots that he shouldn't have more than about 4 ounces, so just limit it. I found that adding a couple of tablespoons worth into a cup of water was enough to still get the flavour. But you could also add it in with rice cereal or oatmeal to thin it out a little. You really can't follow every rule that is set out for children, just do what you feel is ok, and your child will be happy and healthy. And that's really all that matters.

OJ is very acidic. I would start with a 1/2 water 1/2 juice mix to see how they do with it first.

There is too much acid in orange juice for a baby. There are juices sold just for babies in the baby aisle at grocery stores, they are serving size and made just for little ones tummies. Apple juice and white grape juice are better suited for babies.

Yes. Stick with 100% orange juice. I've heard that babies often don't like orange juice because its bitter, so you may want to try to water it down a bit.

My baby's ped. said no citrus fruit until he was 1 yr. old, but I think he's exagerating. My baby is also 10 months old and was wondering the same question as you, since I think orange juice would be good for him. But anyway, two more months of waiting is nothing.

My pediatrician told me no more than 4 oz of any juice a day since all juices are sugar based. There is no need for juices they are only a treat.

My doctor told me no, nothing citrus until the baby is at least a year old it may cause allergies. and the acid in the orange juice may upset thier tummy.

No...no citrus until after one year. White grape juice or pear juice would be a better choice. And you'll want to dilute that before you give it to him...about 50/50 juice/water.
