Laws exist to govern people who aren't able to govern themselves. I am not saying that every law is good nor that everyone is good. However, where there is a law, there is a place where judgment could be used by different people in very different ways. Laws revoke that freedom of thought. What I am getting at is that if one were a virtuous person, one wouldn't need laws. I believe it was Kant that said: "Act as though your actions could be made a law". Therefore the ability to act according to the law should come from within, not because there are cops around. Therefore, in murdering someone else, you're not only killing someone else (obvious), but you're giving away your personal dignity, your ability to say I act as though everything I do could be used as a law.

Does a tree make a sound if it falls when noone is around? Is there a scientific definition of good or bad? Is life a state, or a fact? Is religion a coping device for the uncertainty of death? The answer is that there is no right or wrong, there is only what has been deemed civil and acceptable by people like you and I. So the real question is, is murder wrong? And the answer is, what is wrong? It all depends on a person's mindset.

Murder is defined as the "unlawful killing of another person". If you are free from adherance to any laws (you have your own island), then by your code it is not possible to murder. Beware foreign policy though...your island is probably coveted by other nations!
