There are a lot of good techniques out there. Scent is one method that helps many of my students. If they smell a scent when they are learning something (think mint gum) and then they smell that same scent when they are taking their exam the scent helps to trigger their memory bank. Also sit in the same seat, and ask your teacher to stand or sit where they would normally when giving instruction. When your mind recognizes patterns it is much quicker at recalling information, also this is a good time to see if you can pull out any quotes...think of your teacher talking, can you recall any keywords he/she mentioned over and over again while lecturing? Hope this helps!

The more senses you incorporate into learning something, the better it will stick with you. For example, instead of just listening to the teacher, take notes or draw a picture or diagram to help you remember it. Make an abbreviation of key points of first letter of important words (Roy G. Biv-for the colors in the rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green, etc).
Also, crafting something with your hands (making a model, doing a task) connected to the idea will help you retain it. Make up a rap song or a rhyme. There are hundreds of ways to enhance your memory.

I find that when I write things down, I tend to remember them better. THe more I write something down, the better I remember it. Although this may not help you, its worth a shot.
I also found this website that may assist you:

You may be able to find more tips and techniques just by surfing the internet. Good luck!

i found through my own experience and heard from others that when you are in classroom, try to look in the teachers mouth. Yes, try that. By doing so you will concentrate more and you will do lips reading, which will be pick up by your six sence and you without noticing anything will get things better and remember them longer. Worked for me just fine! Good luck!

Hopefully sopmeone can provide links; those would be great. My two cents is songs and poetry really help. Have the kids write little poems encorporating what they're learning. I garantee they'll remember better when they write about it in rhyme, or sing about it, or make silly associations.

If you can sing it or do it, you'll remember it.
A teacher once told me that. I believe it. Put it to music if you can. Honestly, how many of you can remember all the words to some song you haven't heard in 20 years!!
