Check with Canada Customs, call 1-800-O-CANADA and they can direct to you to their number. A drivers license is not good enough to get across the border. You will need a birth certificate as well. Also check what you need to come back too. Good luck and enjoy your visit here.

Money, the Canadians like U.S. money and it goes a long way. To get across the border, you will need a driver's license or other form of I.D. You do not need a passport. But that can also be used as a form of I.D. In other words, nothing special.

At this point you don't need a passport to get into Canada but you will need one to get back to the US.
Canadians aren't quite as paranoid as the Americans (yet)

I went last week and they are pressing hard for you to have a passport now though until Dec. 31st 2006 you can do it with a drivers license and birth certificate only.

I would use a passport. I use it when I travel by car to Syracuse, New York.
My advice, use your passport.
