Your words are very true, but how can one rationally discuss any issue with people who do not even want to educate themselves and investigate matters to learn the truth?
People are not fully aware of who is occupying who and who actually crossed the borders of which country, aggressing them to fight back for what is rightfully theirs - they simply do not know their history and are not willing to educate themselves.
Like you said, it is about revealing the truth, which may be very hard to deal with because after all it the US citizens taxpayers money that is paying for these murders so it's just easier to turn away from the truth and just attack. Pity isn't it?

I think that this does fuel anti-semetism (i don't like to use that term often though becuase technically, Israeli's are not semites, they are mostly Europeans with Jewish beliefs while Arabs actually are ethnically semites). However, I think that this anti-semetism is in Israel's best interest. Israel exists becase it neighbors are in chaos and it strives on this chaos. The Israeli government radicalizes Muslims in the area so that they can say they are "protecting themselves against terrorists and anti-semites". Hamas was in fact created by Israel to combat the PLO (a secular organization) and rout out the Christian Palestinians, which there were many until recently. America and Europe would not support Israel if they were fighting Christians becuase many Americans and Europeans are Christians. Israel's policies adicalize opposition so that they can gain support from the rest of the world. Their plan could backfire however.

The arabs hate the Israelis. There is nothing that can be done to ever change that. If you think the President is a murderous thug, you had better not live in my country. If you really think that, you need to move to Lebanon or Syria or Iran. You obviously are a leftist anti-American and an anti-Semite who has been brain-washed by the mass media and Al-Jazera. You might as well grab and AK and wrap a rag around your head.

The Israelis and most of our media are lying as usual.
But here's the truth people :)
"basically the current stage of what's going on -- there's a lot more -- begins with the Hamas election, back the end of January. Israel and the United States at once announced that they were going to punish the people of Palestine for voting the wrong way in a free election. And the punishment has been severe.
At the same time, it's partly in Gaza, and sort of hidden in a way, but even more extreme in the West Bank, where Olmert announced his annexation program, what’s euphemistically called “convergence” and described here often as a “withdrawal,” but in fact it’s a formalization of the program of annexing the valuable lands, most of the resources, including water, of the West Bank and cantonizing the rest and imprisoning it, since he also announced that Israel would take over the Jordan Valley. Well, that proceeds without extreme violence or nothing much said about it.
Gaza, itself, the latest phase, began on June 24. It was when Israel abducted two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother. We don't know their names. You don’t know the names of victims. They were taken to Israel, presumably, and nobody knows their fate. The next day, something happened, which we do know about, a lot. Militants in Gaza, probably Islamic Jihad, abducted an Israeli soldier across the border. That’s Corporal Gilad Shalit. And that's well known; first abduction is not. Then followed the escalation of Israeli attacks on Gaza, which I don’t have to repeat. It’s reported on adequately.
The next stage was Hezbollah's abduction of two Israeli soldiers, they say on the border. Their official reason for this is that they are aiming for prisoner release. There are a few, nobody knows how many. Officially, there are three Lebanese prisoners in Israel. There's allegedly a couple hundred people missing. Who knows where they are?
But the real reason, I think it's generally agreed by analysts, is that -- I’ll read from the Financial Times, which happens to be right in front of me. “The timing and scale of its attack suggest it was partly intended to reduce the pressure on Palestinians by forcing Israel to fight on two fronts simultaneously.” David Hearst, who knows this area well, describes it, I think this morning, as a display of solidarity with suffering people, the clinching impulse."

When the American people stop their government from sending a total of $90 Billion of their taxes to Israel to support their barbaric acts then the fighting will stop.

And also when the American people stop their governments from vetoing any chance of a peaceful settlement, then maybe there will be an agreement.

You really should keep track of this whole israeli conflict from the time it began back in the teens (or better yet you can start during roman occupation in the BC era) up until today.
Israel was attacked first by Hezbollah, this isnt the first time Hezbollah has kidnapped, bombed, or simply threatened Israel unprovoked. They give no warning before their bombings, and even less warning when they are in open combat about the targets of their missles.
Israel had made a simple request since the begining of this whole thing a week ago, before they ever fired a shot. Return the two kidnapped souldiers, promise safety for their civilians, and they would drop their guns.
Hezbollah responded by giving them the two souldiers dead bodies and firing missles, saying they would NOT back down and would take this to open war. Now they have kidnapped more men, and refused to coperate with anyone except Iran, who already has made clear their intent (just a few months ago if you bother to read your news paper) to wipe Israel off the map, and been nice enough to supply troops and munitions.
Israel is not asking for Lebanon to do anything more than support them in their fight against Hezbollah. This organization controls that entire country, and there is nothing the government can do about it, those who are not corrupt are part of Hezbollah themselves, leaving the peaceful sane leaders in the minority.
There are atrocities in war, its part of war, but Israel, influenced by its world wide allies, always gives warning to Lebanese citizens before carrying out their attacks. They cannot go in there and make tthe people move, all they can do is warn them, which is something they do not get in return.
If you watch the news cast interviews with Lebanese citizens you can listen to them tell you themselves that they dont see why they should have to leave when they have homes and jobs there. They would rather stay and risk death then act like this is war. Which their leaders claimed openly that they were ready for.
There are less Israeli civilians dead because their government has provided them with bomb shelters to take cover in during these times, and the people willingly use them.
The Lebanese government which doesnt really exist provides nothing more than abandoned school buildings for their people, should they chose to stay in the targeted towns.
This land belonged to no one for centuries, it was claimed and policed by europeans up until the jews returned, at which point they reached an agreement with the palestinians and the jews, splitting the country in half.
If we have learned anything over the past few decades, sharing space with muslim extremists is safe for no one, and eventually you will end up victimized, or on the defense.
A place Jewish Israel has been in since they arrived home.
The surround countries find the Jews a threat, just as they have since their begining, and they react to their presense with fighting, not talking.
About the whole "israel started this trying to annex lands" thing someone else posted. When England and France first set up the split of the jewish/palestine israeli state they have not only all the holy sites, the old city, and all the fertile land to the palestinians, but they gave israel nothing but desert.
In a land with no natural resources, and no major ports, having no land on which to grow crop, or create industrialized cities leaves a country body with NO stable economy, and no real political power.
During the time of this agreement the Jews had no place to go, they were fleeing persecution and death in Europe, and so took their only option, with the intent to open negotiations again.
But with the war europe suddenly became too busy.
Any people and any country has a right to try to survive, especially when they have been given the short end of the stick, and then attacked for it.

I would be interested in your list of nations that you believe would not respond with force if an armed group crossed their border, killed some of their citizens, and kidnapped others. In fact, just name one.
Only a complete idiot would try to take the position that an individual or a nation has no right to self-defense. Only a complete idiot would take the position that this crisis was not started by Hezbollah -- a fact already stated by the Lebanese government, the Arab League, and others. Force is sometimes necessary, unfortunately. Given that you seem to believe those two first points and to not understand the third, it seems very likely that you are a complete idiot.

Anti-semitism has been around long before Israel was a state. It will always be around just as there are people who hate Christiams, Muslims, Hindus, and so on.
Nothing Israel does will change that one way or the other.
Your problem is you see the actions of Israel as wrong when the actions of Hamas and others is just as wrong.

Its obvious you are anti-semitic, the Israeli's are defending themselves agains radical MUSLIM fundamentalist scum. Its about time that at least one country (Israel) has the balls to stand up for itself and speak to the muslims in their own language. Hezbollah and Hamas only know the language of "violence" sucks when someone else starts to speak the same langauge doesn't it?

It obviously has as you are blatantly anti-Semitic. The Israelis don't send children with bombs strapped to them to kill civilians. The Israelis didn't invent terrorism but they've been fighting it a lot longer than we have. I pray for their success in defeating these thugs who stand for nothing but violence in the name of a "prophet".
