Sushi. You have to understand that most Italians are like the French in their taste in foods: That is they are open-minded. Take him to almost any good restaurant and he will enjoy himself.

You are right to avoid Italian restaurants though. It has been my experience that most Italian restaurants in the southern US states are about as Italian as Olive Garden or Pizza Hut.

Ask the old italian professor. I am GERMAN and I surely do not want to be taken out to a german restaurant. I love international food.
Try to ask other italians what they like to eat!

We Italians are not just limited to Italian cuisine although it is some of the best. Do Irish just eat corned beef and cabbage? Do the Polish just eat kielbasi? Do Mexicans just eat tacos? Do Chinese people always eat take out? Do.....ahhhh screw it I'm getting hungry.....
