I have been trying to meet new people to chat to online. I like the idea of finding out about how people from other country's live thier day-to-day lives. How ever I have lost track of the amount of people who ask 'R u 16?' why is it so important to know if I'm over the legal age for consentual sex? And when I look at these people's web pages - oh my god! Large ladies with thier breasts out, old men naked - it just isn't right!! Why is it so scary out there in cyberspace??

sadly that's life. cyberspace is full of wierd freaks and then there are some good guys out there.
the reason you are asked for your age is because it gives an idea as to what topics of concersation to talk about.
sadly this means that lots of people want to talk about adult rated topics. and not as you or i do the getting to know about dfferent cultures and such.
but never reveal your true age and or true location anyway unless you trust who you are talking to.
remeber it is not just cyberspace that can be a scary place the real world can be just as bad in some places. so be careful.
Why so many perverts well i guess they have no real life to live and the only thing to do is talk online.

Because the devil has them blinded and deceived by his lies. Unfortunately many are receiving welfare or other public support. They are Deadbeats and Liars.
We need to PRAY that God would knock the scales from their eyes that they could see the condition that they are in and how God is looking at their lives. Pray that they repent of the sin and ask God to Save their souls before it is eternally to late. In Jesus Christ's Holy Precious name I Pray.

unfortunately cyberspace is only an extension of how scary real life is!!! hard to believe there are so many weirdo's out there but there are. at least you sound clued up and have got your head on straight so many people naively wonder into scary situations. ;o)

i agree with you i was trying to play on yahoo games but i just quit because you would playing a game and the next thing they want to know is something perverted or something sexual i dont go for stuff like that iwould like to be able to play a game on line with out being subjected to rude and sexual comments if you go for things like that thats ok but some people dont
