That's a tough one. The Rolling Stones are an older band and these days I don't think they are as good as Aerosmith... but up until the late 80s the Rolling Stones were a really great band. I am not happy with changes in their line-up.
Aerosmith is a great band and has been able to stay fresh in the times, and even though things were changed around at one point, they have their original band in tact.
They are both really great bands for their own reasons. They have each developed their own original sounds and have withstood the "tests of time" as they say!
That's a difficult question to answer!
If I had to give an answer I would say that right now at this very time I would say Aerosmith is a better band because they are their original line-up and I probably like more Aerosmith songs than I do Rolling Stones. But it's so close!!

Personally, I'd say Aerosmith, but I can definitely see the argument for the Rolling Stones. Aerosmith is just more my kind of music than the Stones, so I'm a bit biased.

Aerosmith is a cheap version of the Rolling Stones, come on it isn't even close. Rolling Stones are by far the better band.
