I'am a bus driver and air brakes on buses are different to car brakes and with passengers on they are not supposed to drive like that. Also for the stupid other road users who know we will stop when they come out in front of us because they know we are a bus but they don't seem to know how dangerous that is with passengers on board. Also in the highway code you give way to a bus coming out of a bus stop as it has the right of way.

Have you travelled on a bus in Spain ? They make our drivers look like old ladies out for a drive on a Sunday afternoon ! Holding on for dear life is part & parcel of every journey you take out there !!!!

Boats and ships travel in knots; buses travel in miles per hour. Buses have brakes on which they may slam. And, while ships have anchors, unless the water is very, very shallow you can't slam on your anchor

Usually because they have a schedule to stick to and if they are running late, the time they are late is deducted off their mandatory break times
