That is a good question but i think about it this way: A person who decides to be a pornstar, especially a guy, would have a state of mind concerned with only money and sex. I'm not sure if theyre happy, but i'm sure they don't think of marriage and intimacy in the same lines of the average person. Show me the porn star that is happily married and wont get divorced in 3 years and i'll stand corrected.

For some its not that they are affected by it, but its the type of childhood they had which caused them to become pornstars, so what happens now it cancels out all judgements of the heart and it becomes a neurological disorder in the brain. For some, prolly are trapped in it and theres no way out and for the others they do it just because they want to, they like the pleasure it brings.
Love u ask, what love got to do with it? Some of these people may never have been exposed to love much more falling in love themselves. they prolly might just laugh at you or there faces in wonder

I think that thay are caught up in this fictional fantasy world. I think it would be impossible to have a normal caring relationship (with ANYONE)
Most are drug addicted and have numbed themselves to do what they do.
I also firmly believe that women who go into this industry wheter it be porn, prostitution or stripping have had been either sexually abused or have father issues. They feel this is the only attention they deserve or it validates them as a worthy person the only way they know how.
As for the men, for most in the industry it is probably the ultimate sexual fantasy come true.
When you are exposed to such raunchy sexual behavior day in and day out, you become desensitized to it. Sex becomes merely an act devoid of all meaning.
If you word it right, you can justify just about anything.

Your question doesn't make sense to me. Who is "they"? The porn models or the people watching? What do you mean by "relatively real"? But if it helps, I think most porn actors are into it for the money. A guy can make more money doing gay porn than straight porn. They don't do it for the personal pleasure per se. I mean, how would you hold up having sex with someone under lights and cameras, being told by a director who would fill your holes and whose holes to fill? Not easy, right? But some guys know they are incredibly attractive, and they happen to be really good at sex, so they decide to make some money from it while they are young. As for people who buy porn, well, of course it either gets them in the mood while they are with a romantic partner, or it helps them gain sexual release through masturbation.

I'm sure many of them adapt to it or get used to it, but from what I've heard many people go get into that as a career are kind of messed up in the first place emotionally. Maybe they have a strong need to feel desired and sexy, or maybe they are just lacking in traditional sexual morals, but usually people who are well adjusted do something more socially acceptable as a career.

Go to a strip bar and talk to a stripper and ask her this question. Porn stars and strippers are human beings. The also have feelings, love others and have a spirit. I am not a porn star nor a prostitute but I think they are able to separate the feelings part with the business part. Think of you having sex during a one night stand and compare it with making love to someone you have feelings for....see the difference?

I saw a Showtime special called "Pornicopia"(I think) anyway they interview porn stars and many of them said sex at work and sex in a relationship is very different. They don't need to be "on" for the camera so... the sex is less showy and more real. Hope this helps.

I think it becomes just like a job to them. Like acting. You can separate emotional love from physical sex quite easily, ask any prostitute.
