I get this all the time. You should be on "america's next top model" or "8th and ocean" or "Do you model?" or "You should enter pagents" or "You look like a model"...etc
The thing is I have always felt that models were ugly and anoraxic looking. Therefore, I feel ugly when they say that or too skinny or something..Do you think this is a compliment or not?

Note: I know this may sound stupid but please take this question seriously.

there's nothing wrong. while you feel fine and healthy, you're eating right, you shouldn't care what they say. if you know them and know they love you then they're being nice.

you asked about feeling like shi t. Don't feel like that. Just don't take by heart when people say bad things.

Model and their looks are now stereotypes, like geeks wear thick glasses and aren't neatly dressed, basketball players are tall and African American etc.

So more than anything else they "see" you in their mind as a model because you fit the stereotype: tall and slender.

However (just to make you feel better) there are lots of tall and slender people that are not called models (girls in the basketball team come to mind). So you must be quite cute to fit the model "stereotype".

I guess you should take it as a compliment.

No, I am sure they mean it in a nice way.

Not all models are overly skinny or dangerously thin. I would take it as the compliment people mean it to be.

When someone tells you something, default to the most reasonable response... that is, they are being nice.

It means you look like everyone else out there that the media is shoving down our throats. Congrats on being average.

BTW: Most models are at least 5'9'' and up. You won't get work as a runway or fashion model.

I would take it as a compliment! Hey, who wouldn't want to look like a model that all the men adore and all the women want to look like!

I think it is definently a compliment. Models may be anarexic looking but their not ugly, their pretty. So when people say that about you, their basically saying your pretty or something like that.

If it's coming from a girl, she thinks you're more attractive than she is, and she's trying to find out if you're as dumb as those models.

If it's coming from a guy, he probably says it to half the girls he tries to sleep with, and he's really hoping you're as dumb as those models.
